A buddy and I went hunting over the holiday season and picked up a moose. It was a small 5-year old male. We each ended up with 200 lbs, or somewhat less than 90 kg, of moose meat, plus all the bones. This is a welcome addition to my freezer - we have been eating moose regularly since then. I made some of it into jerky - dried strips of moose meat - after marinating it for a few days. This has turned out to be some of the best jerky I have ever made.
New drawing is up
I've just uploaded a new pen & ink drawing. It's my first in about 15 years. I am re-discovering a love of technical pens. I have to admit, however, since it has been such a long time for me, I have forgotten much of what I learned, and will need to re-learn it. On the other hand, I don't seem to have any bad habits ingrained either, so perhaps I can start afresh?
I am greatly encouraged. Now to go on to the next one (and finish the last ones!).

I'm glad you updated.
And killing animals makes me a sad panda.
Well, killing this animal made me both sad and happy. My friend said he figured this one was a gift. We both needed the meat, so we were grateful. I grew up on a farm, so killing things to eat, while never easy, has become an activity I can do at need.
I'm glad I updated too. It has been too long.

Needed time to clear my mind, breathe the free air find some peace there I used to keep my heart in jail but the choice was love or fear of pain and I chose love cos everything is energy and energy is you and me (Anathema)
Moose tastes very much like beef. Very, very lean beef. And sausage made out of moose is totally delicious, though you have to mix in some other ingredients so it's not so dry.
I expect the flavours are fairly similar.
